How To Swap Your External SD Card To Phone Storage On Android Mobiles

Here I will show you have to swap your external SD card to your phone storage in simple words we can say that swap your memory card to your phone storage..

This simple post show you how to swap memory card to phone memory.

As you all know that the big problem of android mobiles is low internal storage to install more applications.

For the high end devices they provide good ineternal storage about 8gb or 16 gb even now a days 32 gb.

But for low configuration mobiles they give 4gb or 8gb ,If the developer of mobiles provide the 4gb storage then out of 4gb only 1.2 gb will be left for users to install the applications.
Only few mobile developers provide the options to move the application to SD card.

If the  Move to SD card option is there in your mobile then follow the below procedures to swap the storage.

What we are actually doing here is exchanging external sd card to phone storage even we can say replacing both storages.

First of fall you have to root your mobile phones to apply this technique.

You can find the tutorials in the internet the root you specific mobile phone or even you can comment or contact me i will do it for you.

I applied this technique in my mobile phone and its working well and i have installed more applications in my phone and i had moved it to our external sd card.

Procedure to swap you external sd card to phone storage:-

 1) Root you mobile if already rooted follow next step.
 2) Download root explorer from play store.
 3) Go to >>etc>>vold.fstab  folder in you root explorer
4)open vold.fstab file in text editor, we have to edit this file so you have to open in text editor only not in text viewer.

Follow the text which is there is vold.fstab file.

## Vold 2.0 Generic fstab
## - San Mehat (san@android.com)
##

#######################
## Regular device mount
##
## Format: dev_mount <label> <mount_point> <part> <sysfs_path1...>
## label        - Label for the volume
## mount_point  - Where the volume will be mounted
## part         - Partition # (1 based), or 'auto' for first usable partition.
## <sysfs_path> - List of sysfs paths to source devices
######################

## Example of a standard sdcard mount for the emulator / Dream
# Mounts the first usable partition of the specified device
dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard0 emmc@fat /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.0/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard1 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.1/mmc_host
## Example of a dual card setup
# dev_mount left_sdcard  /mnt/sdcard1  auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.0/mmc_host/mmc0
# dev_mount right_sdcard /mnt/sdcard2  auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-sd.2/mmc_host/mmc2

## Example of specifying a specific partition for mounts
# dev_mount sdcard /mnt/sdcard 2 /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/msm_sdcc.2/mmc_host/mmc1

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Now Look the highlighted text thats is sdcard0 and sdcard1, now change sdcard0 to sdcard1 and sdcard1 to sdcard0.

After changing the sample text i will show you

 ## Example of a standard sdcard mount for the emulator / Dream
# Mounts the first usable partition of the specified device
dev_mount sdcard /storage/sdcard1 emmc@fat /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.0 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.0/mmc_host
dev_mount sdcard2 /storage/sdcard0 auto /devices/platform/goldfish_mmc.1 /devices/platform/mtk-msdc.1/mmc_host.

Then Save the file and restart you mobile and see the change.
